Name Banner for my Baby Girl :)

Ive been wanting to make something like this since we moved into the new house in the end of June. I had lots of trouble finding the chipboard pieces I wanted for it so lastnight I decided to just make my own. I'm relatively happy, I saved myself at least $10 in doing it myself and Grace looked pretty happy when I hung it on her wall! I also incorporated the ScrapFIT workout #26 and added lots of bling and stickles on there!

A Mommy "oops"

I will admit that my photo taking skills on doubles really suck - this is honest to god straight IRL. Combined the lovely sketch at Sketchy Thursdays and Mission to Create - Mission 17.
The challenge at Mission to Create was to use : the color Brown, Distressing, Decorative Edge Paper (hand cut scallops? hope these "count"), a vintage item. I don't own any beads so could only do 4/5.
Anyway - this is what happens when you don't have child safety locks on your cupboards - exploration heh

I signed on the dotted line!

After putting an offer in last week, discovering foundation issues and having things fall through on that house we decided to go into a higher price bracket and found ourselves a gorgeous 2400 square foot 5 bedroom house with double garage and a fully fenced yard (double lot!). We've got a conditional offer so just need to get our financing sorted out officially and get the inspection. Im nervous that it won't work out even though I know that it should as my dad said he would co-sign for us. Our life is going to change so much that whenever I think about it I have tears come to my eyes, it's going to be so great for the kids and us!

Scrapping however may be taking a fair bit of a back seat for a while between us moving, me working, school and us having to finish the house we are in and get it on the market and/or rented out. Yikes!!

Just thought I would share.. And I keep thinking of all of the new and wonderful photo ops I will have in having such an awesome yard for my kids!

Holy smokes the scrap muse strikes again!

Every time I "see" an opportunity to scrap I keep trying to plan it out to maximize my time seeing as it's so hard to find these days between work, school and now the house hunting we've added to the mix. I don't know what happened this evening but Sketchy Thursdays sure helped me kill my evening of free time! I even managed to watch Grey's AND Private Practice while doing all the fussy cutting on this page! Ahhh I love it though :)

Sketchy Thursdays 4.29

I was thrilled to win this kit from Life Preservers (thanks ScrapFit!) It figures that it was the only kit from March that I hadn't ordered from LPS and it's the first one I dug into after receiving them. Im being rushed by the hubs but this is based on the 4.29 sketch at Sketchy Thursdays. Hope everyone had a lovely NSD yesterday!!

It's been a while.

Ive been so busy between work and school (wrote finals last week). My boss decided on trying me working part time which is awesome for me as I don't really *need* to be working full time. This way I get the joys of working ($$) and still get to be home with the kids and have time to do the extra stuff that I want to do without giving up on my sleep.

I posted a VERY similar mini a few weeks ago which I gave to my mom as a birthday/Mother's day gift. I was waiting on the same album to come in (basic grey eclectic) so that I could do one for my mother in law. I did basically the same layout as I loved how the pictures worked out on this one. So here is her mini :)

Im so in love with the little crochet flowers and lace trim I got from the creative scrapper's blog hop and they went perfectly with the papers. Im hoping she likes this and was thinking last night that maybe I can inherit both of the albums back some day for my kids, how perfect would that be??
Hoping to get some scrapping in over the next few days as I don't work until Wednesday but school work is looming too so we shall see! Ive got FOUR kits to dig into from Life Preservers as well.. something tells me school work may get pushed aside a bit lol

Ooey Gooey

This was my daughter the other day investigating in my bins of scrapbooking stuff. Needless to say she was pretty excited about all of it until I took it and put it away.. Future scrapper? Maybe :)

I really wanted to use up some of my lime rickey stash so I pulled it all out... and barely used any.. lol Figures right? Anyway this is based on the weekly sketch at Sketchy Thursdays and I threw in the challenge from Scrap your Crap.
Im still alive here somewhere.. just busy with the kids and school. Ill probably get some scrapping done with my new LPS kits when they come in which should be ANY day now!

MME Life Stories & Ooh La La = one lovely mini!

So here it is, Im still in love with it.. my Mom is lucky I love her as much as I do or she would NEVER see this.. lol! I am so happy with how it turned out and LOVE how the Ooh La La papers go with the Life Stories line. Perfection :)

Isn't that wooden brand just the cutest? Im not sure the brand - chatterbox maybe? Some cardboard and bling.. ahhh love!
I'm not sure if its just the paper combination or the pictures as well.. So much inking on this project, I think I inked almost everything that went onto it!
I love how these pages turned out, one boyish one for Cameron and a more girly one for Grace. I normally can't stand skulls but for some reason am loving it on here.
And the last pages with the whole family as I know for my mom it's more about the KIDS than it is about John and I. I used distress crackle paint in rock candy on the three squares on the right hand side, hard to see in the photo but adds a bit of texture to the page.

Oh and the album is from Basic Grey, I made one a few months ago with the same album for a friend of mine and just love it!

I need a scrapping breather.. lol

After spending the last few days glued to this project - and this project almost literally glued to my kitchen table I am finally done! At midnight no less! I love this mini SO much that I think I will have a hard time giving it to my mom.. As much as I love her.. I almost love this more! Figured I would post a "sneak" as I don't have the time or lighting to really take full photos right now.

Scrappy shopping rocks!

When we got our professional photos done and back I decided I would do mini's for Mother's day, one for each Gramma. So after much online browsing at projects and paper lines I had pretty much decided I would get some Lush. I took the kids today to visit my parents and my dad was nice enough to babysit while my mom and I went over to the LSS. Go figure she had some Lush but not in the blue that I wanted so I ended up checking into other options.

I thought Basic Grey would be a great choice being that I could just buy all the lovely extras that coordinate and go to town but she didn't have any origins and I wasn't sold on any of the other lines.. So more browsing and I found MME Life Stories.. I don't know why I didnt think of it before but it is perfect and my table is already covered in paper and random other things. I haven't even printed photos yet but have done the cover for my first album and am in love!

Can't help but love it when things just fall in to place like that!

Aren't they so cute? Ahhhh perfection, Im going to make some happy Gramma's this year!

Last minute scrapping - MME Challenge #9

I finished my school work at about 3 this afternoon and was killing some time before having to pick up the kids at daycare when I realized I hadn't done this month's challenge for MME. I got right down to business and even DH made fun of me when he called and asked what the weird noise was (distressing lol). Anyway this is what I came up with!

Frosty the snowman.

Ill be the first to admit this.. my photo taking skills suck right now but it's late and Im sure that if I don't get it done now I might never being that DH is at the hospital with his father and Im playing "single mom" for who knows how long.

Anyway.. this is for ScrapFIT's WO #16 as well as Scrap Your Crap.

For ScrapFIT I had to use 4 circles, multiple fonts, distressing and 2 photos.. as for Scrap your crap it was a 20/10 challenge.. so I have 20 uhh.. letters? (did I mention its late- oh god! lol) and 10 buttons. Im glad for the buttons cuz seriously I have NO winter type embellishments and this LO is looking sad enough as is.. ahh well.

Today.. I am happy

This is for ScrapFIT's workout #15 "A day in my life". I based this on sketch 94 from Creative Scrappers and used some lovely MME Ooh La La.

Journalling reads - "is just another day. Each one is different yet they all seem to be the same. Cameron is up at seven, then Grace shortly after. We have breakfast, watch some cartoons and play. Sometimes we go to playgroup or the kids go to daycare and I do school work or sometimes go to work. There are days when the kids drive me crazy and days that I love every minute of it. Most days I obsess over what I'm eating because I am scared I will get fat again. Regardless of what each day is like, I love them all and know that days like these won't last for long."

Yummy Cupcakes!

This is based off of the Sketchy Thursdays weekly sketch using my lovely LPS February kit - It's BG Sugar Rush if anyone is curious. I also played along with Aphra and the Paper Poppy Kit Co's Thrifty Thursday challenge - to alter alphas. I misted up my "birthday" letters with some homemade spray and then rubbed it for a smoother look as the ink was just sitting on them, I like how they turned out (they were pink to start).
Journalling reads "For Grace's birthday, Cameron and I made these yummy cupcakes. Cameron thought they were too girly, so he decorated one with dinosaurs for himself!"

Some MME love right here

I ordered MME Ooh La La a few weeks ago and it came in on Monday.. Well I promptly got to work and created this lovely page of my son blowing dandelions at the lake this summer. I can't get over how long the stitching took me but I am so happy with the results! This is my page for the LPS "scrap bachelor" competition this week, there are five of us left and three will be eliminated on Sunday. Fingers crossed that I get to stay for another week!

Another Sketchy Thursdays!

Supplies - Bo Bunny Kitchen spice, Dream Street "Sam", Bazzil cardstock, Bazzil brads, AC Thickers, Making Memories alpha's, Bo bunny silk flowers and stickers, button is basic grey and ribbon is unknown from my stash.

This is based off of the sketch for the week at Sketchy Thursdays, Im not sure Ive ever completed a sketch ON a Thursday which is kind of cool but I knew I wanted to scrap this photo with these papers so it worked out pretty well when I saw the sketch this morning :)

Some Farm Fresh goodness!

I am in LOVE with this line from October Afternoon, I got it in my kit from Life Preservers last month and still have tons of paper left even after making two LOs and six cards! I have to earn myself six "points" this week at LPS for "The Scrap Bachelor" contest and have been busy busy making cards (I get 1/2 point for each one). Only three more cards and Ill be done for the week so Ill probably be posting more in the near future!

Mojo Monday - 2 Cards

Both of these were based off of this week's "square" sketch at Mojo Monday.

Tuesday, February 16, 2010

Other random projects Ive been working on..

This card is one of the projects for "The Scrap Bachelor" at Life Preservers Scrapbook Club this week - we've been divided into two groups and one entire group will be eliminated this week - hopefully not mine!

Another LPS challenge - This was a one hour sketch challenge, I was pretty happy with how it turned out, probably helps that it's one of my favourite pictures of Cameron as a baby :)

Yet another LPS Challenge - This one was to scrap valentine colors (pink/red) with your eye color.

This one was another 1hr sketch challenge at LPS, I will probably add some journalling to this at some point but who knows when ;)

Love Grows - MME Challenge #8

This LO was really a pain for me, I LOVE these papers (whats not to love about MME) but I couldn't find the *right* photos.. and obviously without photos things don't work well. After having the base for this sit on my table for a few days I finally decided and have been working away at this all day. I am quite happy with the result and enjoyed making my first "handmade" flower and stepped out of my regular comfort zone by doing some "doodling".

Brand spankin new - Sketchy Thursdays & Mission Create

My son just after bringing him home from the hospital, hard to believe that was over four years ago - Used Sketchy Thursdays sketch for the week and Mission 0010 (cardboard, turquoise and at least 5 hearts).

I want my SONGS!

Another challenge for "The Scrap Bachelor" at Life Preservers Scrapbook Club, this one was to be about music in our lives and well.. EVERY night I get to sing the same three songs to this little guy so I figured this was more than scrap worthy considering its the main music in my life every day lol. Based this on the lovely sketch for the week at The Scrappiest (love their sketches!)

It's a special day!

It's hard to believe that after 18 months of trying to get pregnant, 9 months of being pregnant and 12 months of sweet enjoyment my little girl is one today!! We are so blessed to have her in our lives, she is the sweetest most easy going little girl I have ever met! I just finished decorating some cupcakes with Cameron that we can have later before she opens her gifts!

Yummy!!

Oh Happy Day - LPS Scrap Bachelor & Creative Scrappers

Made this with MME Love me do for LPS's Scrap Bachelor challenge - had to have two photos and use the color blue, easy peasy! And grabbed the sketch (and some inspiration) from Creative Scrappers #86!

Bakers man - Creative scrappers/LPSC

Combined a sketch from Creative Scrappers and the prompt from Life Preservers Scrapbook Club - The Bachelor Contest (scrap something your family enjoys doing together) and came up with this. I didn't know it until after the fact but I think I love the nook and pantry line from Basic Grey! This is also the first layout I have ever doodled on and it is true that once you start it is hard to stop.. it's nothing major but hey, its still pen on paper!

Painting Pumpkins

When I saw the challenge on MME Blog I knew what I wanted to do and after all is said and done Im slightly depressed that I don't have much paper left to do anymore pages with but I LOVE the pages I did do with this stuff. Cameron was so funny, I got him to paint this mini pumpkin and he LOST it afterwards because he was so dirty.

Another Scrappy Thursday..

I don't know what it was about this photo of Cameron decorating our tree last year but I just had to scrap it, I few edits with iphoto and it looked WAY better too (it was super dark before). He got up this morning and commented on how much he liked it hehe, guess I did good!

The Scrappiest/Mission Create

First off I need to say, I LOVE how this turned out. I started out planning on scrapping some '08 photos of my son and this is what I ended up with thanks to Mission Create and their color scheme. Once I found these papers I HAD to use them!

Sketch is from The Scrappiest and I did Mission 008 using rub-ons, stitching and the color scheme.

I am excited.. !

Ive been on my weight loss journey for almost a year now - and that somewhat makes me sad because that means my sweet baby girl will be one soon.. Anyway that is beside the point, I am continually baffled by my scale, I met with the 160's this morning which hasnt happened since 2003! That means my totals are at over 75lbs (not including my pregnancy weight)!!

Im super motivated and can't wait to see if I can meet my goal for the one year mark (which is February 1st)!

Now to get my kids off to bed so I can go find some paper to play with ;)

Yet another for Sketchy Thursdays

Both of these are based off of the sketch this week at Sketchy Thursdays, Im much more fond of the one of Grace but such is life right? Hopefully I can get some more stuff done tomorrow, I have so many Christmas photos to work on and just no drive to do any of them. Sucks.
